The terms flame protected, fireproof and not flammable do not have a clear definition.
But there are many different standards for the flammability classification of plastics. Flame retardant
"HOSTAPHAN® Protective Films" meet amongst other things the requirements of the following fire classes:
Building material classes according to DIN 4102, parts 1 and 2
Information on other tests on request.
Please note that when our " HOSTAPHAN® Protective Films" are combined with other materials or articles, the performance of the final product depends on all components and the geometry. Rigorous qualification and safety testing of the final product is always necessary, as unexpected interactions could occur.
The flame retardant "HOSTAPHAN® Protective Films" from Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH are biaxially oriented films made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET). They contain an efficient, halogen-free flame retardant (PET is not intrinsic fire resistant). While retaining the excellent product properties of our polyester films, such as high mechanical strength and dimensional stability at ambient temperatures., these films also meet the requirements of different fire classes.
This highly transparent HOSTAPHAN® RUF film is suitable for a range of protective applications. It offers good weathering resistance and very good UV barrier properties. It also allows high adhesive bond strengths to be achieved in coating, printing and laminating.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
THE FLAME RETARDANT USED CONTAINS NO HALOGENS SUCH AS CHLORINE OR
BROMINE!
