UV-Stabilized Films
Hostaphan® Polyester Films
Hostaphan® UV-stabilized polyester films from Mitsubishi Chemical America, Inc. are biaxially oriented films made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET). These UV-protected polyester films offer good weathering resistance and very high absorption of UV radiation. With UV blocker added to reduce UV transmission, these films show a high transmission in the visible and almost no transmission in the ultraviolet light region.
Other important features of these UV-stabilized polyester films include high mechanical strength and good dimensional stability over a wide temperature range. Our packaging films are designed with treated surfaces to provide enhanced adhesion to solvent based inks, coatings, and adhesives, as well as vacuum deposited metal for improved barrier properties for use in packaging applications including severe retort conditions. Ultra-clear, UV- stabilized polyester films are available for use in the industrial and window film applications, including photovoltaic end uses, where optical clarity, improved flatness and high durability are required.
